A Touch Of Gold

MICHAEL KORS SLIM RUNWAY WATCH    VINCE CAMUTO BAR NECKLACE     C. WONDER FLORAL POUCH     ALEX & ANI BRACELET

When it comes to accessories, I like to maintain an even mixture of bold and delicate pieces. I love to accessorize but firmly believe that accessories should complement your outfit rather than overwhelm it – less is more ladies!

Invest in some simple staple pieces that will accent your wardrobe best and highlight your sense of style and you will never go wrong! Personally gold has become my go-to accessory color because it complements most of my black and white wardrobe best.

One of my must have accessories is an oversized watch! My favorite gold watch is my Michael Kors “Slim Runway” Bracelet watch. This oversized watch makes a statement all by itself despite its very simple design. It is a classic piece that I always receive compliments on and it was worth every penny! My Vertical Bar necklace by Vince Camuto is so simple and delicate that I always forget I am wearing it. Whether it is paired with a crisp white blouse or even a simple tank top it looks great with everything!

While I own a lot of different accessories, I was definitely late to the “ring” and “pouch” trend. I tend to avoid purchasing fake rings in fear that it will turn my fingers green however I recently discovered that by coating rings in clear nail polish it prevents this from happening! So when I purchased these simple gold midi rings from Aldo that match my J. Crew bangle and Alex & Ani ‘Hope’ Bracelet perfectly, I knew I couldn't go wrong with this new trick up my sleeve.

I also purchased this C. Wonder Floral Print Pouch a few weeks ago in New York City during a shopping trip with my girls. Anyone that knows me well knows that I am an oversized tote kind of girl (the bigger the better actually!!) so I never really shopped the “pouch trend" BUT I knew I had to have this one. It was just too pretty! I definitely took a step outside my comfort zone by purchasing this beauty but I am glad I decided to be a little more brazen and add it to my collection! This pouch not only works perfectly on its own as a clutch or a small bag for a night out but also doubles as a pouch for inside my oversized totes! I use it to keep my bag organized or keep track of my necessities that can often run wild in totes! I will DEFINITELY be purchasing more styles like this from C. Wonder and I highly recommend you girls check them out too!

So remember ladies, less is sometimes more and never be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and be a little more brazen!

Let me know what your favorite accessories are and what you purchased//want that you normally wouldn't!

Nail Polish: A Girls Best Friend

I'm the type of girl that carries a bottle of nail polish in her bag at all times. That’s so weird, right? Well I work at a law firm so carrying around nail polish is a NECESSITY! I am constantly chipping my manicures but in general I believe every girl should have a go-to color that she is known for (for winter mine is Essie Wicked)!

With Spring right around the corner (FINGERS CROSSED), I've been experimenting with Essie (my favorite nail polish brand) to find the perfect go-to color for this Spring/Summer. My favorite go-to colors so far are Blanc, A Crewed Interest, Merino Cool and In Stitches.

Blanc is a crisp white color that is extremely versatile and also enhances the look of any tan. The white nail polish trend first popped up in the Spring 2013 runway shows and it is a trend that has stuck with me ever since.

A Crewed Interest is a peachy cream that fits perfectly with this seasons pastel trend. This nail polish is tricky to apply but it is easily my favorite color for this summer.

Merino Cool is a unique grayish-purple. This color is a must have in my opinion and is a staple in my collection. This color is so unique and flatters every outfit so I always receive compliments when I wear it.

In Stitches is my go-to pink color. This color is a mauve pink and compliments my skin tone flawlessly. While I love this color for the Fall season, it fits well with my Spring cream/blush wardrobe collection.

What are your go-to colors for this Spring/Summer?

Black Is The New Black

While my style has no restrictions, I've always found comfort in the color Black. Why black? Well, I've always found it to be my go-to color when shopping, getting ready for an event or going on an interview. It has the ability to make every outfit look well put together (& in my opinion a little bit dressier!). Whether you are pairing black high waist jeans with a chunky knit sweater or a timeless little black dress with classic heels, there is just no denying the power black to leave a bold impression!

This winter in New York City has definitely forced fashion to take a back seat in my books. Between the crazy weather we have been receiving to all the commuting I do between work and college, I've found myself struggling to stay warm & fashionable (every NYC girl's NIGHTMARE!). This is where the color black has come to my rescue! My go to outfit for college lately has been statement tee's, paired with black jeans and minimal accessories. I've kept my makeup bright and neutral for the daytime and slightly more sultry with a dark lip in the evening. My go-to nail polish has been Essie Wicked paired with a variety of different rings alternating between midi's and statement rings that I've recently become obsessed with.

With a few more weeks of winter, black will continue to be my go-to color for outfits and accessories. Not that I am complaining! In my opinion, everything just looks better in black anyway!

The Brazen Project is all about the importance of being bold and embracing our individuality without shame. It is my journey to becoming a little more brazen through my sense of style, my writing, my goals and overall as a individual.

I hope each post will either inspire boldness, motivate you to embrace your individuality or just give the urge to spend a little more money than you should in my SHOP section!

So stay tuned & get a little more brazen with me!
